The 18th International Forum on Teacher Education (IFTE) 2024 will be held in Shanghai, China, from December 10-12, 2024. The theme of the forum is 'Transforming Teacher Education for a Sustainable Future'. The forum will bring together leading scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to discuss the latest trends and developments in teacher education.
The IFTE is a biennial event that provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and best practices in teacher education. The forum is organized by the International Council on Education for Teaching (ICET),a global network of teacher education institutions and organizations. The 18th IFTE will be hosted by the East China Normal University in Shanghai, China.
Theme: Transforming Teacher Education for a Sustainable Future
The theme of the 18th IFTE is 'Transforming Teacher Education for a Sustainable Future'. This theme reflects the growing recognition that teacher education plays a critical role in preparing teachers to address the challenges of the 21st century, including climate change, inequality, and social justice. The forum will explore the following sub-themes:
- Preparing teachers for a changing world
- Innovative approaches to teacher education
- Teacher education and sustainable development
- The role of teacher education in promoting social justice
Call for Proposals

Registration

The IFTE Organizing Committee has secured a block of rooms at the following hotels for conference attendees:
- JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square
- The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong

Attendees are encouraged to book their hotel accommodations as early as possible to secure the best rates.
Transportation
Shanghai is a major international city with excellent transportation links. The city is served by the Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA). Attendees can also travel to Shanghai by train or bus from other cities in China.
