John Kipling was born in 1897. He was a bright and talented boy, and his father doted on him. John was educated at Eton College and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. In 1915, he joined the Irish Guards and was sent to France.
John Kipling was killed in action on September 27, 1915, at the Battle of Loos. He was just 18 years old. His death devastated his parents. Rudyard Kipling wrote a number of poems about his son, including "My Boy Jack" and "The Dead Son."
After the war, Kipling and his wife, Caroline, searched for their son's body. They eventually found it in a mass grave. John Kipling's body was buried in the St. Mary's Churchyard in Winchelsea, Sussex.
The death of John Kipling had a profound impact on Rudyard Kipling's life and work. He became more withdrawn and pessimistic. His later works often dealt with themes of loss and grief.
The story of John Kipling is a tragic one. It is a story of love, loss, and the search for meaning in the face of tragedy. It is a story that reminds us of the cost of war and the importance of cherishing our loved ones.
