In his latest novel, Little Criminals, Gene Kerrigan takes readers on a dark and disturbing journey into the world of teenage violence. With vivid descriptions and heart-pounding suspense, Kerrigan tells the story of three troubled teenagers who become entangled in a web of crime and violence that will forever change their lives.
The novel begins with the disappearance of 15-year-old Jimmy Hynes. Jimmy is from a troubled home, and his parents are not overly concerned when he doesn't come home one night. But when his body is found a few days later, brutally murdered, it becomes clear that something sinister is at play.
As the police investigate Jimmy's murder, they uncover a connection to two other teenagers: 16-year-old Deirdre Purcell and 17-year-old Darren O'Neill. Deirdre is a troubled young woman who has been involved in petty crime and drug abuse. Darren is a violent and impulsive young man who has been known to get into fights.
The police soon come to believe that Deirdre and Darren are responsible for Jimmy's murder. But as they dig deeper into the case, they realize that there is more to the story than meets the eye. The three teenagers are all victims of circumstance, and their lives have been shaped by poverty, abuse, and neglect.
Little Criminals is a powerful and disturbing novel that explores the dark side of teenage life. Kerrigan's writing is raw and unflinching, and he does not shy away from the harsh realities of poverty, violence, and despair. The novel is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the complex world of teenage violence.
